The Beechcraft C-12J is a military transport aircraft the United States Army and Air Force uses. It is a modified version of the Beechcraft 1900C and is used for various missions, including cargo transport, medical evacuation, and passenger transport. The C-12J has a range of approximately 1,500 nautical miles and can carry up to 13 passengers or 4,500 pounds of cargo. It has various communication and navigation systems, including GPS and HF radio, and is powered by two Pratt & Whitney PT6A-65B turboprop engines. The Air Force uses them exclusively in the PACAF theatre, with most of their fleet operating out of Yokota AB, Japan.
Outside of their passenger airlift mission, the C-12J can also be set up to transport two litter or up to ten ambulatory patients. The avionics suite of the Juliet models has recently been updated and modernized, which will keep them in the fleet for many years to come. The modernization program included three GPS, twin FMS, an updated autopilot system, new VHF & UHF communications radios, and a new weather radar system.
