Besides the UC-35 and UC-12, the USMC has one more VIP/logistics aircraft in their inventory: the Gulfstream C-20G. This should not be confused with the U.S. Air Force C-20A (Gulfstream III) which has been retired since 2017. The C-20G is instead a GIV, which is slightly smaller that the C-37/GV, but retains much of the operational ability of the GV. Gulfstream Aerospace Company (GAC) created the C-20G Gulfstream IV, an all-weather, long-range, high-speed aircraft, for the US Navy. A military version of the Gulfstream IV is known as the C-20G. Fleet Battle Groups receive medium airlift logistics support from it.
The US Navy put in its initial proposal for the C-20G aircraft in May 1991. In March 1992, a contract was given to GAC. In 1995, five C-20G aircraft were delivered. Three C-20G aircraft are assigned to Marine Corps Air Facility (MCAF) Kaneohe Bay, two C-20G aircraft are with Fleet Logistics Support Wing Squadron VR-51, and two C-20G aircraft are with Fleet Logistics Support Wing Squadron Four Eight (VR-48), NAF Washington. The C-20G is a logistic support aircraft created to support the Navy's Special Fleet Critical Airlift operations by transporting both people and cargo. The aircraft can make long-distance, nonstop flights between airfields with limited ground support equipment.
The best hedge of defense against unplanned delays from the aircraft comes in a readily available supply of parts so that you can get them when you need them. Instead of wasting your time sourcing the parts and jumping through hoops to get it, let Greenwood Aerospace take care of it.
